Hrund Gunnsteinsdóttir is an Icelandic sustainability leader, filmmaker and author who’s just published a book centred around the Icelandic concept of wisdom and intuition, known as “Innsæi”. Released in March 2024, she has already successfully sold the translation rights in 11 languages, including an upcoming U.S. release with Harper’s.
"We live in a world where it's easy to feel lost, disconnected, or without purpose. Learning about InnSaei is the first step to reconnecting with yourself and the environment" Hrund explains.
Her book features insightful interviews with a diverse range of distinguished individuals who harness their intuition for great success, such as Harvard’s Negotiation Expert David Shapiro, renowned artist Maria Abramovic, and Germany’s National Handball Coach Alfreð Gíslason.
Hrund's impressive career includes a tenure at the United Nations, including pivotal roles in Kosovo's recovery, and consultancy projects in Asia, showcasing her dedication to global development and peace-building. Her work in leadership has been recognised through various accolades, including being named a Yale World Fellow, a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and Cultural Leader, and becoming a member of Yale’s International Leadership Centre.
With 20 years of practice and research into intuition as a superpower, Hrund first shared her insights through a Netflix documentary, "InnSæi – The Sea Within". The documentary will be re-released on Amazon Prime to coincide with the book launch in the U.S.
Hrund believes that by embracing the wisdom within, you can enhance decision-making, invite creativity and wonder into your life, and cultivate self-awareness, empathy, and tolerance. This transformative approach empowers individuals to effect positive change in their surroundings and lead more fulfilling lives.
What is the impact of intuition on your event audience?
Business and Intuition: Empowering Effective Leadership through Intuition
Leaders who tap into their intuition often adopt a holistic approach to problem-solving, considering a broader range of factors and perspectives. This leads to more comprehensive decision-making, enhances creativity, and fosters innovation, resulting in unique and competitive market offerings. By accessing their inner voice, leaders increase self-awareness, empathy, and tolerance, strengthening interpersonal relationships and creating a supportive work environment. Intuitive leaders are also more adaptable and responsive to change, sensing shifts early and pivoting strategies proactively. Trusting their intuition makes leaders appear more authentic, strengthening relationships and fostering long-term success.
Creativity and Intuition: The Role of Intuition in Fostering Creativity
Intuition plays a crucial role in enhancing creativity by enabling individuals to tap into their subconscious minds, leading to fresh and innovative ideas. By trusting their gut feelings, creatives can produce work that is more genuine and resonant, reflecting authentic expression. Intuition aids in finding unique solutions to creative challenges, often bypassing conventional thinking and fostering improved problem-solving. This intuitive decision-making can help creatives enter a state of flow, where work feels effortless and highly productive. Additionally, intuitive work often carries a deeper emotional impact, connecting more profoundly with audiences. Intuition also helps creatives quickly adapt to new trends and changes in their field, ensuring their work remains relevant and dynamic. Trusting their intuition can boost a creative’s confidence in their work and decisions, leading to a more assured and impactful creative process.
